Jr. and his wife Dianne (Burley) of NH, Dennis M. and his wife Julie (Curran) of Abington and Erin M. Minichiello and her husband Mark J. of Hingham. Brother of Mark F. of Middleboro, Kathleen Lessard and Noreen Mussari both of Brockton, Richard J. of Abington, Faith M. Porter of N. Easton, and Mary Ann Columbo of Onset. Grandfather of Brenna Norton, Jenna, Joshua, Justin, Juliana, Rachel and Jack Fitzmaurice, and Ethan Minichiello. Great Grandfather of Marisa Norton. Brother in Law of Melodie Stanton of N. Easton and Ray Emerson of GA.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 8:15 am followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Middleboro at 10 am. George died unexpectedly Saturday. He was born in Brockton, MA June 19, 1937 son of the late Richard and Kathryn (Grimes) Fitzmaurice. George was a 1955 graduate of Brockton High School and also attended Boston Industrial Technical School; he had lived in Brockton from 1937-1996, in Norton from 1996-2003 and in Middleboro the last three years. George was a Production Manager for Brookfield Engineering formerly of Stoughton retiring in 1996 after 38 years of service.
George had been a Boy Scout Committee Chairman in Brockton while his children were growing and had been the former President of the Band Boosters of Brockton HS. He was a life member of the Enterprise Club in Brockton, a model train enthusiast and enjoyed Golf when he could. George will be most remembered for his love of family and will be greatly missed by all.
