TEWKSBURY- Louise E. (Powers) Cunningham, age 70, died peacefully at home on Saturday,
April 29, surrounded by her family, after a courageous three month battle with Cancer. She was
the beloved wife of Robert Cunningham with whom she had celebrated their 37th wedding
anniversary this past October.
She was born in Lowell on August 18, 1935 a daughter of the late Frank “Smitty” Powers and
Louise (Powers) Chase. She had lived in Billerica for over thirty years, and Tewksbury for the
past two years.
She was retired from Wang where she had worked as an administrative assistant.
In her earlier years, she enjoyed golfing and traveling with her husband on business trips. She
also enjoyed traveling with her family.
Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter and son in law Karen-Anne (Leclair) Tenney
and her husband David of San Diego CA, one son and daughter in law H. Joseph Leclair and his
wife Natalie of Kittery, ME; four daughters through marriage, Diane Cunningham of Portland,
ME; Elaine (Cunningham) Tellier and her husband Richard of Windham, ME; Karen
(Cunningham) Cervizzi and her fiance Ted Manning of Tewksbury, Susan (Cunningham)
Melanson and her husband Joseph of Tewksbury; twelve grandchildren; and many nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends.
She was also sister of the late Gerald, Richard and Lloyd Powers.
Her Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, May 3, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Following cremation,
interment will be private. Memorials to the Affinity Hospice of Life, 121
Middlesex Tpk., Burlington, MA 01803 will be appreciated.
