Willie J. McKemie Posey, 74, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Navicent Health in Macon. A private funeral service and burial will be held for Mr. Posey at a later date.
Born January 24, 1948, in Coleman, Mr. Posey was the son of the late Edwin Harris Posey and Annie Gill Posey. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Rohmel White. Before retiring, he was a self-employed welder and salesman. He loved going to flea markets and auctions and was quite a wheeler-dealer. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a wheel vehicle mechanic in the Vietnam War. He received the Vietnam Service Medal, the Silver Star, a Sharp Shooter Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Mr. Posey is survived by his wife, Rozella Ray Posey of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Karen Posey of Chicago, Illinois; a step-son, Richard Allen Allbritton of Dublin; two daughters and one son-in-law, Michelle Posey of Zephyrhills, Florida and Lanita and James Walegorski of Bushnell, Florida; one sister, Alice Posey; one brother, Clarence Posey of Dade City, Florida; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
