Dorothy R. (Baker) Cushman 88 years formerly of Brockton died March 24 at the Bayview Healthcare Center in Waterford, Connecticut after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Edward E. Cushman. Mrs. Cushman was born in Randolph a daughter of the late Minot E. and Bertha (Makepeace) Baker. She moved to Brockton as a young girl and was a graduate of Brockton High School.
Before her retirement she had been a kindergarten aide for the Brockton School Department. She had also worked at Dotten and Thompson Dress Shop in Brockton.
Mrs. Cushman enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and knitting.
She had been a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Brockton where she was a member of the Women’s Fellowship and was a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by her son Robert E. Cushman and his wife Virginia of East Lyme, CT and two grandsons Robert Andrew Cushman of Hastings, Nebraska and Thomas Cushman of Simsbury, Connecticut and one great grandson
Private committal was held in Melrose Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
