Riley of Brockton April 26, 2006, Catherine A. “Kay”(Lyons) Riley, 88 years. Loving wife of the late Joseph B. Riley. Beloved mother of Catherine “Cathy” Riley of Norton, Mary Riley-Itri and her husband Gary Itri of Van Nuys, CA, The Honorable William J. Riley and his wife Christine Santoro of N. Easton, Joseph B. Riley, Jr. of Brockton and his girlfriend Ginny Frazier, John F. Riley and his wife Flavia of Bremen, ME, Robert F. “Bobby” Riley and his companion Janet McGovern of Lakeville and Kevin M. Riley of Brockton.Grandmother “Dama” of Austin, Ali, Dan, Joe, Johnathan and Catherine “Kate”. Aunt of John “JR” Riley of Norwood.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Route 123) Brockton Monday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Obituary

Mrs. Riley died Wednesday evening at her home surrounded by her family after a period of failing health. She was born in Brockton, a daughter of the late Michael and Bridget (Shealey) Lyons and remained a lifelong resident of the city. Mrs. Riley was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School Class of 1935 and was also a graduate of Brockton Business School. Before her retirement she had worked for many years as a secretary in the Brockton School Dept. at the Brookfield, BB Russell and Ellis Brett Elementary Schools. Previously she worked at Kennedy’s Dept. Store and the Brockton District Court.
She had been a member of the 20th Century Catholic Club, the St. Patrick’s Ladies Sodality and served on the Cardinal Spellman Parents Association. Mrs. Riley was a long time communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where she had been a Eucharist Minister and served on the Parish Council. She also volunteered in the kitchen at Mainspring House in Brockton serving free meals to the needy. She was an avid Red Sox fan and loved all sports. She also enjoyed performing with Brockton’s Potpourri Shows.

She is survived by her children, Catherine “Cathy” Riley of Norton, Mary Riley-Itri and her husband Gary Itri of Van Nuys, CA, The Honorable William J. Riley and his wife Christine Santoro of N. Easton, Joseph B. Riley, Jr. of Brockton and his girlfriend Ginny Frazier, John F. Riley and his wife Flavia of Bremen, ME, Robert F. “Bobby” Riley and his companion Janet McGovern of Lakeville and Kevin M. Riley of Brockton, her grandchildren, Austin and Ali, Dan, Joe, Johnathan and Catherine “Kate” and a nephew, John “JR” Riley of Norwood.
She was the wife of late Joseph B. Riley and sister of the late Bill, Joe, John and Bob Lyons.
