Obituary

Raymond J. Fecteau, 73, of New Bedford died Thursday April 27, 2006 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Roselle E. (Reul) Fecteau.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Leo P. and Orise (Fournier) Fecteau, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

He was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.

Mr. Fecteau was formerly employed as a Postal Clerk at the Buzzards Bay and Sagamore Post Offices until his retirement.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cheryl A. Alves, and her husband Arthur, of New Bedford; two sisters, Claire Lischin of Plantation, Fla., and Doris Foster of Claremont, NH; three grandchildren, Arthur T. Alves, Jr., Dylan Shapiro, and Michael Shaw; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Michele Shaw.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9 AM in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, followed by burial with Military Honors in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
