Mr. Charles Long, a resident of Medford, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Sunday morning, February 20, 2022. He was 66 years old.
Born in Brookline, Massachusetts, on January 13, 1956, he was the beloved son of Kate Long Collins of Medford and the late Charles F. Long. Mr. Long was a lifelong resident of Medford. He was retired, after more than 20 years with Community Work Services and truly enjoyed watching and cheering on his favorite Boston sports teams.
Besides his mother, (Kate), Charles is survived by his sister-in-law, Patricia and her husband, Andre Smith, of Medford; one niece and one nephew, Anthony J. Long and Kavona S. Long, both of Medford; one great-niece and one great-nephew, Isaiah and Leila, both of Medford. In addition, Charles leaves behind, a host of extended relatives, including aunts, one uncle, cousins and other loved ones. Charles was also the brother of the late Anthony D. “Tony” Long.
His life will be honored in the chapel of Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, MA, on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visitation will be held in the funeral home, prior to the service, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM.
