NEW BEDFORD — Alexander Edward Mingola, age 26 years, of New Bedford, died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at St. Luke's Hospital unexpectedly.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of Sharon (Begley) Mingola of N.B. and Daniel Mingola of Acushnet and was a lifelong city resident.
Alex was a graduate of New Bedford Regional Vocational School and was an active sports player. As a youth he was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church and loved sports of all varieties. He particularly loved camping and was an avid Yankees fan.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister Erin Marie Begley, his maternal grandparents Edward and Eleanor (Campbell) Begley, his paternal grandparents Francisco and Mary (Gonzales) Monteiro, his maternal great-grandmother Rosalie Campbell, his step-mother Theresa (DiPaola ) Mingola, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours are omitted. A memorial service will take place on Friday, May 12, 2006, at 10 A.M. in Grace Episcopal Church, New Bedford followed by a gathering at Century House in Acushnet.
