Joseph R. Rivet Sr. of Salem, New Hampshire died Tuesday morning at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA; he was 87 years old.
He was born in Lawrence, MA on June 24, 1915 and was also educated in Lawrence. He had been a Salem resident for 62 years.
Mr. Rivet was a retired Tool & Die maker for Sylvania Corp. in Salem, MA until his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Peterson Council # 4442 in Salem, NH and he served as Grand Knight from 1964 to 1966 as well as Treasurer.
He was a charter member of the Council and was elected the Knight of the Year in 1983 by his brother Knights. He was also a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Bishop Peterson Assembly #0641and a member St. Joseph Church in Salem, NH.
Mr. Rivet was the widower of Mary D. (Lynch) Rivet. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Mary Ann Rivet.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10AM at St. Joseph Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester, NH.
