NEW BEDFORD — Marie R. P. (Sayers) Sherman age 79 years, of New Bedford, died Sunday, April 23, 2006, at The Oaks Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Stanley B. Sherman.
Born in London, England, daughter of the late Archibald Sayers and the late Rosetta (Perks) Sayers Carlish, she lived in the greater New Bedford area much of her life.
An active member of People's Christian Church, she sang in the choir and was also a Girl Scout Leader. Mrs. Sherman had been employed as a claims adjuster at Cornish Insurance Company until retirement.
She is survived by her daughter Sherry L. Valliere and her fiance Hermano P. DePina of NB., her granddaughter, Allyson L. (Valliere) Brodeur and her husband Christopher, her grandsons Wayne J. Valliere and his wife Christina, Aaron B. Valliere and his fiancee Melinda Spooner and Joshua J. Valliere and three great-grandsons, Aaron B. Valliere Jr., Joshua J. Valliere Jr. and Cam'ron J. Valliere.
Her funeral will take place on Friday April 28th at 12 noon in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., NB with visitation within the hour prior to the service.
