CENTER CONWAY- Ronald Brooks Mallory of Center Conway, NH, who passed away on Jan. 17, 2022, was born on May 22, 1941, in New York, NY of Trenetta and Spurgeon Mallory. His family moved to Groveville, ME when he was 1 and he graduated from Buxton HS in 1958. He pursued his degree in Nursing at the Univ of ME and worked at Mercy Hospital, until he enlisted in the Navy in 1962 as a Combat Corpsman, serving in Europe, Cuba, Vietnam, and SE Asia with Army and Marine special forces, and as a medic and self-defense instructor at San Diego Naval Base before separating in 1967.
He worked for Fairchild Semi-Conductor, Prudential, was a skilled chef, auto-mechanic, builder, diver, motorcyclist, boater and mountain climber. Among many things he went on a climbing expedition to Nepal, treasure-hunt diving in the Caribbean, scallop harvesting off the Maine coast, and most importantly to him, he rode in the Washington DC Memorial Day parade 25+ years with family, friends and Veteran brothers and sisters of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his daughter, Ingrid (Searsport, ME), grandson Walker (Lovell, ME), granddaughter Brighton (Searsport, ME), stepson Jeffrey, his wife Ann and son Phoenix (Tucson, AZ), stepson Jason (Biddeford Pool, ME), brother Jay and his wife Jane (Summerville, SC), nieces Krista (Bangor, ME), Jessica and her husband Chris (Summerville, SC) and Jaclyn, her husband Mike (Lake Wylie, SC) and nephew Jay and his wife Ginger (Helsinki, Finland), cousins Joyce and her husband Bill (Aiken, SC) and Bruce and his wife Kathy (Searsport, ME)… and remembered by many close friends. Memorial services will be held later in the Spring.
