SANFORD- Ruth M Downs 83 of Sanford passed away Jan 22,2022 at her home in Sanford with her loving family by her side.
Ruth was born Dec 29,1938 in Rochester, New Hampshire. The daughter of Fredrick and Doris Anglle, where she attended local schools. Ruth was a Native
American belonging to the Sioux Tribe (Lakota Indian) until age five when her family left the tribe. Later in life she attended pow-wows to learn about her heritage, later on she shared it with her family.
On April 4 of 1963 Ruth married the love of her life Charles Downs. Together they raised two wonderful children. She enjoyed going to the Beaches, POW Wows and yard sales. She enjoyed spending time with her family and two dogs Tinkerbell and Rosie.
Ruth is predeceased by her husband Charles, both her parents, four brothers and four sisters. She’s survived by her son Stephen and wife Jennifer Michaud of Corinna Maine. Tammy and husband Phill Kehling of Sanford, Maine.
Ruth had six grandchildren Josh Michaud, Vincent Michaud, Kheristen Michaud, Austin and wife Daniel Murphy of Springvale, Dakota Murphy, Mariah Murphy-Kehling and Fiancé Mark Lynch of Sanford and great-grandson Demarcus.
At a later time, Tammy will notify family and friends of a celebration of life.
