Obituary



Roy H. Piver, Jr. age 73 of East Bridgewater passed away peacefully on January 20, 2022. He was the loving husband of Jane F. (Robichaud) Piver for 53 years. Roy was born and raised in West Bridgewater a son of the late Mary (LaFratta) and Roy H. Piver, Sr. and was a 1966 graduate of West Bridgewater High School.

Roy started a lengthy career in the Massachusetts Air National Guard in 1973 at the 102nd Fighter Wing - Otis Air National Guard Base on Cape Cod. He served domestically and abroad including tours in Germany, Iceland, and Saudi Arabia. He was proud to have served his country during 9/11. He retired in 2008 as the Command Chief Master Sergeant. He loved his country.

Roy was a longtime member of the Old Colony Sportsmen’s Club in Pembroke where he enjoyed the camaraderie with the members. He was the coordinator of the Schuetzenfest Rifle Match for many years, taking home many trophies himself. Roy had many hobbies that brought him joy including hunting, cycling, and collecting and preserving antique rifles. He cherished special time with his family consisting of Sunday dinners, holiday celebrations and weekends at Lake Winnipesaukee.
Roy will be remembered as a steadfast friend, mentor to many, loving husband, caring Dad and the best Puppa to his seven grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by his children: Christin Laroche and her husband Stephen of Goffstown, NH; Andrew Piver and his wife Lauren of E. Hampton, NY and Elizabeth Crowley and her husband Matthew of Milton, MA. He was the grandfather of Kevin and Claudia Laroche; Daniel and Samuel Piver; Owen, Elsa and William Crowley and brother to Jeannine Piver of W. Bridgewater, Lorraine Bromley and Jeffrey Piver both of West Bridgewater and the late Susan Dalton of West Bridgewater.

VISITING HOURS ARE CANCELED
THE FUNERAL MASS IS PRIVATE FOR FAMILY ONLY.
Burial to follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 12:30pm and is open to the public.
