PORTLAND - Daniel Glenn Peeling, age 58, passed away suddenly on January 14, 2022, at his home.
Dan was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on November 27, 1963, to Ronald LeRoy Peeling, Sr. and Verna Jean (Bragg) Busch Peeling Warner. Dan moved to Gorham, Maine in 1977. He graduated from Gorham High School in 1982. He became a top-notch mechanic specializing in brakes and exhaust and was also a State Certified Inspector. He changed his career more than 20 years ago to that of Security Officer -- at one time being supervisor of security at UNUM, later transferring to Securitas.
Dan was a Star Trek "Trekkie," enjoyed online gaming, building computers and classic cars.
He is survived by his son, Nicholas Daniel Peeling of Gorham; his ex-wife, Rosanne Moody Peeling of Gorham; his parents, Ron Peeling of Standish and Jean Warner of Pooler, Georgia; two half-brothers, Robert (Bob) Busch of Pooler, Georgia and Ronnie Steiner of Ohio; two half-sisters, Theresa Steiner Hoag of Ohio and Sherri Steiner Burns of Indiana; two step-brothers, Robert Schroeder and his wife, Samantha of Standish, and Michael Schroeder and his wife, Elaine of Goodyear, Arizona, and several cousins.
A memorial service will be held on a date to be determined, late spring or summer, at Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road, Buxton, ME.
