HUBBARDSTON___Simon James Gregory, 54, of Hubbardston, passed away peacefully on Friday January 14, 2022, in his home. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of twenty-nine years, Sandra M. (Milewski) Gregory. He also leaves his daughter Sarah L. Gregory and son Simon F. Gregory, both of Hubbardston; his parents, Simon H. and Nancy (Hawley) Gregory of Holden; brothers, Paul Gregory and his wife Karen of Carver, MA, David Gregory and Maddie Starks of Beverly, MA and sister Anastasia Gregory of Holden; many nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1985 and University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1990 with a degree in Environmental Science. Simon worked as a histologist for Toxicon Company prior to retiring. Prior to this, he worked with his father selling electronics as part of Vanguard Electronics.
Simon loved the natural world and often took hikes in the state forest by his home. He spent time teaching his children about the world around them. He was a collector of many things; some of which were rocks, minerals, fossils, plants, and most recently blown glass. He enjoyed cooking with his family. He passed on his culinary skills to his wife and children.
Simon will be missed for his sarcastic sense of humor, fun-loving attitude toward life, kindness and gentleness towards all living things.
Private services were in the care of HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St. A celebration of Life will be at a later date.
