FALL RIVER - John Howance, Jr., 92, residence Fall River, MA., died Monday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Theresa (Vieira) Howance. Besides his wife of Fall River, he is survived by: One Son: John S. Howance of Fall River, MA., One Daughter: Carolyn J. Connell of Fall River, MA., One Brother: Antone Howance of Fall River, MA., One Sister: Vera Crook of Dunedin, FL., One Grandson: John Connell, Several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Benjamin Howance, Anne Jackson, and Mary Gabrielsen.
Born in Fall River, MA, the son of the late John Howance and the late Katherine (Lizak) Howance. He was a life long resident of Fall River. Before retiring, he was a Weaver at Ross Matthew. Previously, he worked at Berkshire Hathaway. He was a previous member of Blessed Virgin Parish, now Blessed Trinity Church.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St., on Thursday with visitation at 8:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Internment in the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, Laurel St. Fall River. There are no other calling hours.
