From 1967 to 1969, John began his federal service career with an enlistment in the US Army, serving with distinction in Vietnam. In 1987, John was hired at Pacific Missile Test Center, Point Mugu, CA, as an Electroplating Worker Helper in the Design and Prototype Division. In this division, he assisted in the use of chemical processes to plate and coat metal surfaces. In 1990, he became part of the Weapons Instrumentation Division in which he began a new career inn the field of electronics. He then became an Electronics Mechanic. After 14 years of dedicated service to the Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, and the Department of Defense, on November 19, 1999, John retired from the Government of the United States of America.
John was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Ventura. He spent his free time doing the things he enjoyed and loved, whether it was hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing with family or even just by himself. He also spent one day of the week (Thursdays) playing card games and making memories, laughing, and joking with his friends ("The Guys"). John ("Caldo") was very well known by many people, several of whom enjoyed the same hobbies as he did. He will always be remembered for the Good Man he was - a big sense of humor, always joking with his well loved family.
