Janice L. (Marotte) Smith, 81, of Fairhaven passed away Sunday January 16, 2022 at Hope Hospice in Providence, RI. She was the wife of the late Michael P. Smith.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Aurelle and Ethel (Smith) Marotte, she lived in Fairhaven for most of her life.
Mrs. Smith was formerly employed as a paraprofessional at New Bedford High School until her retirement.
Janice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and most of all a loving great-grandmother to Nash. She will be deeply missed by all.
She is survived by her children, Michael P. Smith and Joyce A. Horn; three grandchildren, Matthew Dubois, Shannon Coutu and her husband Ryan, and Paige Horn; a great-grandson, Nash Russell Coutu; her sister-in-law, Kathy Marotte; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother-in-law of the late Russell Horn, and sister of the late Joyce Marotte and Dennis Marotte.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Thursday January 20, 2021 at 11 AM at St. Lawrence Church, New Bedford. Visitation and burial will be private.
