Obituary

Harry Earl Brewer, 87, of Tifton passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2022, at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley and the Rev. Steve Tucker officiating. Mr. Brewer will be laid to rest at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Cadwell and the Rev. Gerald Purvis officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Liberty Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Mr. Brewer’s nephews, Donnie Crumley, Johnathon Crumley, Joseph L. Crumley, Mike Crumley, Wayne Matthews, Raleigh Moorman, Dickie Robinson and Jamie Taylor will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Rev. Terry Allen, Harold Ogletree, Mike Gibbs, Troy Tapp, members of the Tifton Gideon Camp, members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Classes at Liberty Baptist Church and the Deacons of Liberty Baptist Church.

Born June 4, 1934, in Coffee County, Mr. Brewer was the son of the late Earl Elester Brewer and Coretta Towson Brewer. He was also preceded in death by one brother, T. J. Brewer and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Appiedine “Piddle” and Glynn Moorman and Emma Jean and Charles “Dick” Benson. Before retiring, he was the owner and operator of Tifton Hardware and Supply from 1965-2001. He was a craftsman, a swing builder, enjoyed fishing on the Alapaha River and gardening. He was a Godly husband, loving father and dedicated servant of the Lord. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon since 1964 and taught Sunday School for 57 years. He was a member of the Tifton Gideon Camp since 1988. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Brewer is survived by his wife of 66 years, Norma Ann Oliver Brewer of Tifton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sherrie and Ronny Franks of Jasper, Susan and Dr. Robby Brinson of Dublin and Kimberly and Steve Cadwell of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, LaVerne and Perry Taylor of Tifton; a sister-in-law, Daphne Brewer of Brooks; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Max Franks, Anna (Franks) and Mark Swanson, Denver and Morgan Franks, Alena (Franks) and Lance Sudduth, Sarah (Brinson) and Dr. Micah Gibson, Leah Brinson, Austin Cadwell and Kayla Cadwell; five great-grandchildren, Wilhelm Swanson, Wyatt Swanson, Paisley Swanson, Palmer Swanson and Freya Sudduth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
