Obituary

Marie Viliane Solon was born in Beraud, Haiti, on August 9, 1939. She was the first born of nine children to parents Begilia and Edner Nelson. She worked as a merchant in Haiti before marrying her late husband, Montas Solon on August 23, 1970. Marie and her husband had six children: Jean Yves Solon, the late Pierre Uviness "Rico" Solon, the late Martha Solon, the late Pierril Solon, Elcie Solon, and Diess Pierre Solon. In 1980, Montas migrated to the United States and Viliane joined him in 1983 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Shortly after in 1985 and 1986, all four living children joined them in the states. Viliane worked multiple jobs at Daddy- O's restaurant, Salvation Army, Gourmet District, and Lynnway Flea Market. During her life, she was thoroughly entertained by WWF, loved her scratch tickets, and always played the lottery.

Viliane is survived by her 4 children, 6 grandchildren: Daeshawn, Univess Jr., Amari, Delilah, Ajami, Pitchyami, four sisters: Jeanine, Edeelle, Marie, and Claude, nieces and nephews, extended family, and many friends.

Viewing hours will be on Friday January 21, 2022 from 9-10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church located at 1548 Blue Hill Ave, Mattapan, Ma. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery located at 427 Cummins Highway, Roslindale, Ma.
