Placida Cerbone, passed away peacefully at the Massachusetts General Hospital Boston, on Thursday, January 13th, 2022.
Placida was the beloved wife of the late Angelo Cerbone. She was a devoted mother to Filomena “Phyllis”, Antonietta and Vincenzo and his wife Jennifer. She was a loving grandmother to Philip Anthony and Angelo King, Isabella and Allegra Cerbone. She was the dear sister of Carmelina Cerbone of Andover and the late Maria Firelli, Ottavio, Franco, Orlando Cerbone and Margaret Zarro. She was the caring sister in-law to Teresa Cerbone of Wakefield, MA and Maria Cerbone of Italy. She is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
Placida immigrated to the USA in 1968, settled in the North End, Boston and later moved to Medford to make it her family home. Placida lived a long and vibrant life. Most of all, Placida was devoted to her family. Placida was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She looked forward to spending special time with her grandchildren and family.
Placida enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with those she loved. She was an avid reader of Italian literature and enjoyed watching her shows on the RAI Italian Television Station.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, Friday, January 21st at 10 AM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Placida's family requests that all guests adhere to social distancing guidelines.
