Obituary

AUBURN - Mr. Patrick F. Gabriella Jr. , 89, passed away on Tuesday January 11, 2022 at his home with his family by his side.
Pat was born on January 27, 1932 in Worcester, Massachusetts, son the late Patrick and Carrie (Morello) Gabriella. He was the loving husband to the late Albina “Abbie” (Mazgelis) Gabriella whom he lost on February 16, 2002.
Born and raised in Worcester, Pat has been an Auburn resident since 1960. He was a graduate of Commerce High School where he served as Class President for the Class of 1950. He later went on to graduate from Worcester Junior College .
Pat in his early years worked at M.J. Whittall Rug Company for 12 years and then moved to Norton Company (now St Gobain) for 30 years up until his retirement in 1990 retiring as manager of the corporate general accounting department.
He was very active in the Auburn Baseball Little League and the Auburn Youth Hockey programs. Pat and his wife, Abbie were amateur artistic roller dancers for many years and were members of the Roller Kingdom Hudson Skating Club. It’s actually how they first met.
Pat continued to find joy from being involved with his grandchildren’s skating, basketball and gymnastics. He loved cooking and making special desserts for the family. In fact, he insisted on cooking Christmas dinner this past year. His home was always open, and his hospitality always shone through.
He is survived by his two sons, Mark Gabriella, Michael Gabriella and his wife Maria; three grandchildren, Kerrianne, Gianna, and Anthony; also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Pat was pre-deceased by his sisters, Doris Gauthier and Marie Fors.

Relatives and friends are invited to Pat’s visitation on Monday January 17th at FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch Street Worcester from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. His Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, January 18th at St Joseph Church in Auburn at 10:00am. Interment will follow in St John’s Cemetery. For those attending, facial coverings are respectfully required and social distancing measures will be in place.
