Obituary

New Bedford - Altino Manuel Costa Matos passed away peacefully on the morning of January 10th, 2022; he was 54 years old. Altino, or “Al” as most knew him, was born on August 17th, 1967 in Agua De Pau, Sao Miguel, Acores to Maria Isaura Ferraz Matos and Antonio De Nacimento Matos. He leaves behind his best friend and daughter Alexa Nicole Ventura Matos, sisters Lina Delgado and Delia Sousa, brother Luis Matos, brother-in-law Joseph Sousa, sister-in-law Dalia Matos, and 2 nieces and 3 nephews.

Altino loved sharing knowledge, lessons, and philosophy. He loved to learn and would rather subscribe to the history channel than watch a sporting event, and that is what made him special. He was an animal lover and a beach lover.

He had a heart of gold and a constant forgiveness for all those around him of which the world needs more of. Altino was a people person who adored being with the people he loved. He was honest almost to a fault and to the ones he loved, he loved with all his might.

Altino will be remembered for always wanting to make people laugh with his many stories. He had so many stories to tell and so much knowledge of history to share, that one would have thought he lived many lifetimes. Sadly, he lived only one that was cut incredibly short. He will be missed by so many. Our Altino, Al, Daddy, Padrinho, Titi, Brother, and Son.

Altino's visiting hours with his cremains will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 12:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home with a service to be held during this time.

Arrangements are placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, Ma. 02740. Please see our website: www.perryfuneral.com for condolences.
