Obituary

Mr. John A. Wallace, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved husband of the late Doris I. (Roberts) Wallace, passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Friday morning, January 7, 2022. He was 88 years old.

Born in Medford, Massachusetts, he was the beloved son of the late John and Margaret (Shea) Wallace. Mr. Wallace was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean war, entering the military at Boston on October 2, 1950 and receiving his honorable discharge from Loring Air Force Base on October 1, 1954. John was employed at Hood Milk in Charlestown MA., as a member of the wholesale distribution department for 39 years. John advanced within the organization and was promoted to Distribution Supervisor. In his spare time, he enjoyed candlepin bowling and was an avid Red Sox fan. Above all, John was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His pride was his family for whom he loved very much; his lineage was extremely important to him. He will be dearly missed.

John is survived by his loving children; John A., Jr. and his wife Gail C. Wallace of Medford, Ronald F. and his wife Pamela A. Wallace of Medford, Richard A. and his wife Denise M. Wallace of Saugus, Frederick J. and his wife Nancy M. Wallace of Salem, New Hampshire and Joseph E. Wallace and his fiance Mary C. Bacci of Everett, brother Robert F. Wallace of Townsend, grandchildren; Jennifer, Keely, John, III, Robert, Joseph, Richard, Jr., Aimee, Frederick, Jr., Lauren, Kayla, Ashley and Joseph, Jr., 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Marilyn Batelli.
