William P. Burke, Jr., 96, of Derry, NH, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022, in his home with family by his side. He was born in Medford, MA on July 28, 1925, a son of William and Mary (Simpson) Burke.
He is survived by two daughters, Wendy Smith of Derry, and Kathleen Proctor of Bradenton, FL; two sons, William Burke of Lawrence, MA and Kenneth Burke of Claremont, NH; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude Daley of Malden, MA, and Phyllis McDonald of North Reading, MA; as well as several nieces and nephews. William is predeceased by his wife, Muriel (Orne) Burke, three children, Steven Burke, Scott Burke, and Christopher Burke and two sisters, Helen Foreman and Virginia Zuk.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 2 - 3:30pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services will follow at 3:30pm in the funeral home. The burial will be held at a later date in Crooked River Cemetery, Naples, ME. At the family’s request, all those in attendance are required to wear face masks while in the funeral home.
