Roza Xhai, 96, of Worcester died Thursday, January 6th at home surrounded by her family. Her husband of 29 years, Koco Xhai died in 1979. She leaves a son, Filip Xhai and his wife, Eli; a daughter, Eleni Qiqi and her husband, Pirro; her brother, Koco Papanastasi; her sister, Elsa Jani; four grandchildren, Denis Qiqi, Dea Retzios, Ira Xhai, and Kosta Xhai; and three great grandchildren, Nectarios Retzios, Nephele Retzios and Sophie Qiqi.
She was born in Permet, Albania the daughter of Janaq and Dhimitrulla (Papa) Papanastasi and immigrated to the United States in 1997.
Her funeral is Wednesday, January 12th with a service at 11:30 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the start of the service.
