HAMPDEN - Donald Allen "Don" Ogonowski, 83, of Hampden, was Called Safely Home on Friday, January 7, 2022. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Schenectady, New York on May 5, 1938, a beloved son of the late Adam and Clara (Kverek) Ogonowski. He was raised and educated in Schenectady and had moved to Hampden in 1971 where he lived the remainder of his life. He furthered his education and received a Bachelor's Degree from Siena College in Loudonville, NY. He was last employed as a Claims Adjuster with Gallagher Bassett Services. He was a member of the Federated Community Church in Hampden. During his leisure time, he enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and soul mate, Joyce C. (Clark) Ogonowski. They were married on June 27, 1981 in Winchester, New Hampshire and were blessed with over 40 years of happiness together. He also leaves his four loving daughters, Deborah Mack and her husband, Jeff, Denise Henkind, Dawn Courtney and her husband, Mike, and Jennifer Deslauriers and her husband, Mark; his loving daughter in law, Christy Kovel; his three cherished grandchildren, Nicolas Ryan, Ashley Glueck and her husband, David, and Joshua Deslauriers; his dear sister, Carol Norris and her husband, Jim; his dear sister in law, Geri Spear and her husband John; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving son, Tracy Helin. His funeral services and burial will be private. There are no visiting hours. His funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
