Robert Perry Burns, 'Bob' 81 of Brooksville Florida passed away peacefully on January 2,2022 with Family by his side.
He was born April 28th,1940, the son of the late Edward J. And Lucy Burns (Arnold) of Mystic CT. He is also predeceased by his only brother, Lawrence E. Burns of East Haven CT, 2 sons Dave and Larry of Anchorage Alaska and by his love of his life, wife, Lilian Burns of Eberbach, Germany.
After growing up in Mystic and graduating from Fitch Senior High school, He attended the University of Connecticut earning a degree in Electrical Engineering and had a long and rewarding career in the US government.
Bob was a world traveler, an avid ham radio operator (W1LBV) CW. Loved old western movies, tinkering around with electronics and rooting for his Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also was an animal lover and had a special bond with his grandpuppy, George. His favorite weekly event was, breakfast with his ham buddies on Saturday mornings at Biguns restaurant.
He is survived by his daughter, Denise Zviman of Belcamp MD, sister-in-law, Marie J. Burns of East Haven CT, Nieces Deborah M. Burns of San Jose California, Donna M. Abbott of Martinez California, Dawn Nixon of East Haven CT, Yovonne Guida and Nicole Guida of Eberbach Germany.
Bob is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and many great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday January 13th, 2022 at 2 pm at the Elm Grove Cemetery. 197 Greenmanville Ave, Mystic CT.06355
