Obituary

BUXTON- Donald Wayne Moody, age 84, of Town Farm Road, passed away on Jan. 5, 2022, at Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Ellsworth, Maine on Aug. 31, 1937, a son of the late Benjamin and Amy (Henry) Moody.
Don proudly served his country in the US Army in the Military Police.
When he was 15 years old, Don moved to Sandy Hook, CT. He started working in construction and took a job in maintenance at the Fairfield Hills Hospital for many years. He also worked in security for a number of years. After moving back to Maine, Don worked at the Buxton Town Hall for three years and retired from Evergreen Manor in Saco after working there in maintenance.
Don was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Don Loved being in his home state of Maine and loved his log cabin in the woods. In retirement Don and his wife enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Yellowstone, and Hawaii. Don was a member of the Bar Mills Community Church where he served as a sextant, deacon, and was a member of the Building and Grounds Committee.
He was also a 48-year member of AA and helped many people on their journey to sobriety.
He is predeceased by a stepdaughter- Jennifer Brown who passed away in November.
He is survived by his beloved wife- Judy (Hayes) Moody whom he married in 1985 at Portland Headlight; brothers- Henry Moody and his wife Dora of Skowhegan, and Dwight Moody and his wife Gail of Eutawville, SC; niece- Kimberly; nephews- Benjamin and Douglas; stepchildren- David Cormier and his wife Michelle of Casco, Tracey Good of Corona, CA; grandchildren- Cassidy Cormier, Tyler Cormier, Aaron Brown, Brendan Richter, and Philip Good and Judy’s siblings- Richard of CA, Pamela of NC,Becky of Gorham and Roxanne of NV.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date to be held at the Bar Mills Community Church.

****BUXTON- Donald W. Moody, age 84, husband of Judy, passed away on Jan. 5, 2022.

A memorial service to celebrate Donald’s life will be held on Saturday May 21 at 2 PM at the Bar Mills Community Church, 13 Hermit Thrush Dr., Buxton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bar Mills Community Church, PO Box 424, Bar Mills, Maine 04004.
