Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 10 am. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish (formerly St. Colman) at 11 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Lorie A. (Lemieux) Murphy 48 years of Raynham formerly of Brockton died Sunday morning at her home surrounded by her family after a lengthy battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). She was the wife of John F. Murphy.
Lorie was born in Brockton a daughter of Lillian (Venti) Lemieux of Brockton and the late Arthur Lemieux. She was raised and educated in Brockton and was a graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School class of 1976 where she was on the tennis team. She was also a graduate of St. Aquinas Junior College in Milton. For many years she had been an administrative assistant at Shawmut Bank in Boston. She had also worked for Waste Management in Maryland.
Lorie was an outdoors enthusiast who enjoyed skiing, horseback riding, hiking and the beach. She was so adventuresome that she tried bungee jumping and sky diving.
When living in Brockton she was a communicant of St. Colman Church.
In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by her three brothers Arthur and John Lemieux both of Brockton and Bobby Lemieux of Haverhill. She leaves a step daughter Lisa Murphy of Maryland and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
