Gary A. Julian, 72, of Mystic, CT, passed away December 20, 2021, at his home. He was born in New Britain, CT, to the late Frank and Fern (Renaud) Julian, and was a lifelong Connecticut resident.
Gary is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mary (Jalkosky) Julian; two sons, Randall and Joshua Julian of Clearwater FL; two brothers, John Julian of Youngstown, Ohio, and Alan Julian (wife, Alice) of Homosassa, FL, along with nieces and a nephew and great nieces and nephews.
Gary had a successful career in Information Technology that spanned 35 years at various companies throughout the Hartford area. Starting as a programmer, he was promoted to various management positions, ultimately retiring from Aetna Insurance Company. After retirement, he was able to enjoy his love of the sea and the outdoors, fishing and cruising to various destinations with his wife Mary on their boat (Dazzle). He was also an avid and devoted fan of UConn girls basketball and the New York Yankees. Gary loved being active, taking meticulous care of his home, boat, and yard, and working part-time at a local marina. In addition, he willingly lent his talents to the neighborhood homeowner’s association, helping guide and organize the association and disseminating information.
