New Bedford - Jose P. Vieira, 86, died unexpectedly January 1, 2022, at St. Lukes Hospital. He was the husband of the late Maria do Rasario Faria Vieira.
Jose was born June 20, 1935, in Faial da Terra, Sao Miguel, Portugal to the late Manuel Vieira Jr and Rosalina Pacheco da Silva. He worked for City of New Bedford, City Yard, Brittany Dye and White Rock.
Jose is survived by his three children. A son, Anthony Vieira and his wife Robin Vieira of Massachusetts. And his daughters Rosalyn Guidry and her husband Bradford Guidry and Maria Lachapelle and her husband Bernard Lachapelle, both of Florida as well as 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 7th at Perry’s Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, MA from 5:00 – 7:00pm. His Funeral will take place on Saturday morning, beginning at 8:00 A.M. in the funeral home and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to take place 9:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. James Church, 233 County Street, New Bedford, Ma 02740. Burial will immediately follow in St. John's Cemetery.
