Obituary

TIVERTON... Manuel “Manny” A. Carvalho, 98, of Tiverton, R.I., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on January 01, 2022.
He was predeceased by his wife Belmira “Bella” (Rodrigues) Carvalho.
Manny was born at the McCorrie farm in Portsmouth, R.I, the son of the late Mary (Martins) and Jesse Carvalho. He was a WWII Army medic in the fifth infantry division of Patton’s third army. After the war he became a union carpenter and he owned Carvalho’s dairy farm. He enjoyed playing guitar, music and dancing.
Manny is survived by his daughter Joan M. Stone of Tiverton and a son Manuel (Pete) A. Carvalho of Tiverton and five grandchildren: Crystal Gaw and her husband Roy, Deloy “Chip” Stone Jr. and his wife Toni, Melissa Carvalho and her husband Jeff, Stacey Herman and her husband Brad, Meggin Handrigan and her husband John. Five great grandchildren Aja Sirrico and husband Tristan, Levrett "L.J." Sanford Jr, Margaret Bella Stone, Chandler and Cooper Handrigan and one great great granddaughter Adalyn Cook Sanford and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by all his siblings: sisters: Mary Magan, Marion Merola, Antoinette Mottas, and Agnes Silva. Brothers: John "Bunker”, Jesse, Alfred and Edmund Carvalho and his son-in-law Deloy “Duke" Stone.
No services will be held at this time.
