Obituary

Kimberly K. Kilgore, 64, died December 30, 2021, in Anderson, after an extended illness. She had been residing at Sugar Fork Crossing Assisted Living Community.
She was born on July 30, 1957, in Kokomo, and raised in Marion, later making her home in Indianapolis.
She was a member of the graduating class of 1975 at Marion High School and a member of the 26th Street Singers. Continuing her education, she graduated magna cum laude at Indiana Wesleyan University. Professionally, she had a forty-year career acting as a senior executive with Members United Corporate Federal Credit Union in Warrenville, Illinois, Kaplan Compliance Solutions in Indianapolis, and Frost Brown Todd in Indianapolis.
She was a lifelong learner, avid reader, lover of the arts and a travel enthusiast. Her love of art and travel led her to numerous group trips across Europe and Italy. Her perfect day was one spent in Florence, Italy with family and friends strolling through the city, visiting countless museums, churches and palaces in search of Renaissance masterpieces. After a day of exploring the city on foot, she would gather her group in a favorite restaurant to feast on baskets of bread, local foods and wine. Laughter would be plentiful and continue late into the evening. With a full belly and happy heart, she would sing and dance her way through the cobblestone streets back to the hotel to prepare for the next day’s adventure. In addition to her travels abroad, Kimberly loved watching and attending sporting events with her family. Any opportunity to see the Colts, Pacers and Hoosiers play or her favorite, the Masters was received with a quick, “I’m ready, when are we leaving!” Her many adventures made for the most wonderful memories.
Survivors include, her mother, Jean Kilgore (partner, Don Barton) of Pendleton; sister, Kitty Cope (husband, Jack) of Anderson; nieces, Carly Cope Brenner (husband, Paul) of Indianapolis; Kasey Cope of Anderson; Cariann Cope of Fishers; great-niece, Regon Brenner of Indianapolis; and great-nephews, Jax Brenner and Beau Brenner of Indianapolis; special friends, Debbie Fields (husband, Jerry) and family of Chesterfield; Cathy Corbi (husband, Chuck Spreitzer) of Wheaton, Illinois and Larry Harmon of Springfield, Missouri.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her father, Robert E. Kilgore; brother, Kent A. Kilgore; and grandparents, Helen (Stookey) and Karl Kilgore and Louise and Clarence Paul.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sugar Fork Crossing for the wonderful care that they provided Kimberly.
