Obituary


NORTH WATERBORO- Gail Smith Woodsome, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and Gigi passed away January 1, 2022, after a valiant battle with lung cancer.
She was born on July 29, 1941, at home, in East Waterboro, to Raymond L. and Delma (Knight) Smith.
She was educated in Waterboro schools, graduating from Sanford High School and was a proud member of the 59ers.
She married the love of her life, Andrew Woodsome Jr. on November 8, 1958. They shared 59+ years of marriage. They were proud founders and owners of Woodsome’s Feeds & Needs. She also was a longtime cook with SAD #57 hot lunch program, retiring as manager of Waterboro Elementary kitchen.
In later years, Andrew and Gail enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, their infant daughter, Debra, and her two sisters, Pamela Orcutt, and Mary Sanborn.
She is survived by her three children, Dwayne (Lynn) of North Waterboro, Dana (Sandy) of Springvale and Denise and her husband Michael Knox Sr. of North Waterboro; five grandchildren, Stacey (Eric), Shannon (Brad), Michael Jr. (Kayla), Jared, and Andrea (Cody); five great grandchildren, Rachele, Andrew, Turner, Ethan, and Isla, along with several nieces and nephews, and many other family members and friends.
Graveside services will be held in the Spring at the convenience of the family.
