Richard W. Arey, 76, died December 23, 2021 at Watson Fields in Dover following a battle with Parkinson's disease.
He was born in Portsmouth on December 31, 1944 the son of Robert G and Evelyn Arey.
Prior to his retirement he was a mechanical engineer in the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
He held membership in the Professional Ski Instructors of America.
Family members include his wife, Holly (Cote) Arey of Barrington, one brother; Douglas Arey and his wife Carol of New Ipswich and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Janet (Arey) Desjerner and a brother, Christopher Arey.
Calling hours will be held on December 31, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:30 am in J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 noon following calling hours in St. Augustin Church.
Burial will follow in St. Augustin Cemetery.
Donations may be made in Richard's love of the outdoors, to The Society for the Protection of NH Forests, Forestsociety.org, or 54 Portsmouth St., Concord NH 03301, or charitable donations to the charity of one's choice would also be much appreciated.
