George L. Ellms, 84, of Spencer died Monday, December 20th in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence. He leaves his wife, Barbara A. (Dusoe) Ellms with whom he would have celebrated his 61st wedding anniversary on New Year’s Eve; a daughter, Kimberly Hanbury and her husband, Jason of Spencer; a granddaughter, Annabelle; and a sister, Nancy E. Samia of Shrewsbury. He was predeceased by a sister, Carol E. Ellms.
He was born in Worcester the son of Ralph A. and Aida W. (Eckerstrom) Ellms and graduated from South High School. George worked for Small Business Service Bureau for over 26 years in the maintenance department, retiring in 2005. Mr. Ellms enjoyed spending time at the casino, fishing, and his yearly vacation at Old Orchard Beach. His favorite pastime was spending time gardening with his granddaughter, Annabelle.
His visitation is Thursday, December 30th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester followed by burial in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester.
