Prosser, Washington - Jolene Marie (Lloyd) Mills, 61, passed unexpectedly December 15th, 2021, due to circulatory complications. Jody defied the odds in her battle with Addison's disease by living for decades after her initial diagnosis.
Jody was born June 7th, 1960, in Sunnyside, Washington to Rodney and Nancy Lloyd. She was the apple of her father's eye. A true tom boy to the core, if there was some sort of outdoor or sporting activity that she could do with him or her family, she'd be the first out the door.
She was a survivor, great friend, dedicated Christian, loyal daughter, sister, spouse, aunt, mother, and grandmother. She will be cherished and remembered as being an adventurous, fun-loving, giving woman with a great sense of humor and an insatiable compassion for animals.
She is survived by her mother-in-law, Florence Mills (Pasco, WA); husband, Dennis Mills (Prosser, WA); siblings Crystal (and Steve) Cooper (Heber City, UT) and David (and Lisa) Lloyd (Richland, WA); daughters Wendi Gatewood (Pasco, WA), Tracy Stone (Kennewick, WA) and Danica Mills (West Richland, WA); son in laws Ben Gatewood and Kevin Suazo; grandchildren Jacob, Parker, Kaelee and Tyler Gatewood; her beloved dog, Maggie. Additionally, she will be missed by the students and staff at West-Wind Martial Arts as well as countless groups of hungry missionaries.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you donate to Jody's favorite charity, Jt. Jude Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org. Her wish would be that we all spend as much time as we can with the ones that we love.
