Obituary

LIMERICK- Dave C. Gibson, 49, was born in Boston, Massachusetts, He attended Oyster River High School in New Hampshire. He furthered his education by studying Culinary Arts at Newburry College in Boston, Massachusetts.

On December 17th 2021, Dave passed away unexpectedly.

Dave had a passion for life. He turned a page in 2010 and became sober. He saw all of life's blessings again for the first time. He would spend most of his days in nature. He loved to hike the many trails around Limerick with his wife and their two dogs, Elvis and Hazel. During the summer months, you would find him kayaking the surrounding lakes, taking care of his lawn, and making sure his flowers and veggies were growing just right in his garden.

Dave loved walking to the local businesses near his home. He'd frequently visit Dough Boys for their amazing chocolate glazed donuts, Sokokis Seafood Shack for their Fisherman's Platter and chocolate shakes. He would even walk to his stepson's barbershop up the road for a fresh cut. Dave was always supporting the small businesses around town, and everyone knew his name.

Dave never lost his love for baseball, and he could rattle off stats from a hundred years ago. Dave was the JV Baseball Coach for Massabesic High School, and it brought him so much joy mentoring those young men. He would get a twinkle in his eye once February began, knowing that the season was about to start.

Dave worked as a bartender for many years, and he made countless friends along the way. He worked at TGIF, Elliott's in California, Billy's Chowder House, Oak Street Bistro, and Woody's Sports Grill. He loved taking care of his customers and listening to their stories.

Dave was a very important Grampy to his grandson, Trevor. He was the light of his life, and his right-hand man. You would find the two of them watching Looney Tunes, playing video games, gardening in the yard, hiking nearby trails, putting together 1,000 piece puzzles, cooking delicious meals, playing with the dogs, working out in Grampy's home gym, playing catch, shooting hoops, discussing sports, and the joys of life. Their bond was truly something special

This past March, Dave became a selectman for his town of Limerick, Maine. He wanted to make a difference in his community, and he thought, there's no better place to start than by getting involved and having his voice heard. Dave would always say, "If you want to make a difference in this world, start from the bottom, and always keep your side of the road clean."

Dave married the love of his life, Bonnie, in September 2014. He called her his best friend and teammate in life. They were inseparable and always off exploring the world together. From following the Red Sox to a new stadium each year, to driving to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway to watch the Nascar races. They always hiked a trail nearby to see the sights. Their love of sports and nature brought them to so many beautiful and new places. With Dave as a Broncos fan and Bonnie as a Patriots fan, they were a house divided, but their hearts are forever united.

Dave was an incredible Bonus Dad to his stepson, Kevin, and his wife, Maggie. He loved them dearly and instilled many life lessons that they'll carry with them for the rest of their lives. He taught them how important it is to see the good. No matter who or what hurt you, you must always do what you hope to see in this world. Love always wins and life is always better when you're kind, compassionate and forgiving.

Dave also leaves behind his Dad, David Gibson, and his wife, Kathy.
His Mother, Jane Rosell, and her husband, Jon.

Four sisters, Natalie, Stephanie, Katie and Chris.

One brother, Jonny. Three brother-in-laws, Scott, who is like a brother to Dave, Jeff and Victor.

Dave was an uncle to eight nieces.

He had many good friends spanning from the West Coast to the East Coast.

There is a big hole in many hearts, now that he's gone from this earth. We will spend the rest of our days filling that hole with all the love and light that he brought to every soul that he met during his journey.

I Love you, Hun... until meet again.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2022.
