Richard R. Battista, age 75, passed away Thursday at Pendleton Heatlthcare in Mystic.
He was born in Atlantic City, NJ, August 24, 1930. He is predeceased by his mother, Kathleen Battista Snoesky and step-father Milton Snoesky, and his brother Donald Battista. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Geyer of Mystic, three children, Nancy and husband Francis "Skip" Adams of Waterford, Ronald and wife Cindy Battista of RI and Kathleen and husband Thomas Izbicki and six grandchildren, Glenn Pelt, Lauren and Gordy Adams, Benjamin and Alex Izbicki, and Mitch Battista.
He retired from General Dynamics as Structural Design Supervisor. He played in General Dynamics Structural Department softball team and Morgan Park Baseball League in New London.
His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Tuesday from 11-11:45am, followed by a service at 12noon. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery.
