Obituary

Edmund A. LaPorte, 78, of Derry, NH, died Friday, April 21, 2006 at the Arbors of Bedford. He was born in Londonderry, NH on October 27, 1927, a son of the late Archie and Yvonne (Gamache) LaPorte. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry. Mr. LaPorte also served in the US Navy during World War II. He was employed as a purchaser of millwork, doors and windows for several different companies throughout his years of employment. He enjoyed outdoor activities during his life, which included archery, skiing, hunting, fishing and golfing. He also had woodworking as one of his hobbies.
His family includes his wife of 28 years, Kathleen (Grimme) LaPorte of Derry, his daughter, Debra A. Crowley of Allenstown, NH, his son, Jon A. LaPorte of Goffstown, NH, his granddaughter, Jessica Daigle of Allenstown, his grandson, Joshua Daigle of Allenstown, and his sister, Imelda LeBlanc of Bedford. He was predeceased by his first wife, Faith A. (Joslyn) LaPorte and his sister, Irene Angeline Chase.
Calling hours were in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry on Monday, April 24, 2006 from 5 – 8pm. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, April 25th at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26, Crystal Ave., Derry. The burial followed in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry.
