Obituary

Andre “Andy” Lucien Therrien, 68, died December 3, 2021 at his home following a brief illness.
A Manchester native, Andy was the second of three children born on September 7, 1953 to Lucien Z. and Bertha (Prud’homme) Therrien.
Proud of his French Canadian ancestry he was educated at St. Jean Baptiste Grammar School and Ste. Marie High School, where he excelled in his studies and on the basketball court, where he earned the nickname, “Red Hot Andy”.
He had a strong work ethic even as a young man working at Martin’s Catering throughout High School and College.
Educated at New Hampshire College, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration.
He enjoyed a long and wonderful career at Catholic Medical Center retiring as Controller.
He was a devout Catholic, daily communicant and longtime parishioner of Ste. Marie Church where he served on several committees. His devotion and love of the Catholic faith and his family were at the center of his life.
He was a devoted, generous husband, father and grandfather. He helped with homeschooling, coached all his children’s sports and enjoyed family trips to the mountains, beaches, lakes and fairs. He and the love of his life, his wife Marianne, especially enjoyed rides to the ocean and walks on the sandy beaches of Ogunquit.
He was predeceased by his beloved son, Joseph on February 8, 2013, and his brother-in-law Joseph Gauci in July of 2021.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marianne (Gauci) Therrien of Goffstown, his daughter Maria of Manchester, his granddaughter, Amaris Mercy Therrien Ashauer, and daughter in law, Kari Ashauer and her husband, Lucas of Falmouth, KY., two sisters; Pauline O’Reilly and her husband Edward of Manchester, Denise Lunn and her husband, Brian of Marshfield MA., his sister-in-law, Sandra Gauci of Bedford, and several nieces, nephews, cousins.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 10 am in Ste. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave.
Burial will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd.
Memorial donations may be made to the Joseph A. Therrien Memorial Scholarship Fund. Checks can be made to Franklin Templeton 529 College Savings Plan and mailed to Sheryl Olstead, 329 Meetinghouse Hill Rd., Farmington, NH 03835. Contributions will help fund the college education of Andy’s granddaughter, Amaris Mercy Therrien Ashauer.
