Obituary

Louise A. (Bartlett) Reardon, of Falmouth, formerly of Cotuit and Barnstable, passed away on Friday April 14, 2006 at the Guardian Center in Brockton. She was 82 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Tech. Sgt. Malcolm Bartlett Reardon USAF.

Born June 21, 1923 in Fall River, Massachusetts she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine ( Ironside) Bartlett. She attended Cotuit Public Schools, and was a graduate of Barnstable High School, Class of 1941. She attended Cape Cod Community College and graduated with an A.S. Degree in Arts. Later in her career, Mrs. Reardon attended Boston University, resided in the college dormitories for two years and at the age of 52 graduated with a B.A. Degree in English, with honors.

Mrs. Reardon was employed at Otis Air Force Base on Cape Cod, for over twenty years and later on as an Administrator with the Harvard Medical School in Boston, for an additional twenty years.

She was a former member and attended The Old South Church in Boston and The First Congregational Church in Falmouth. She was a member of The College Club Of Boston, The Business Professional Women’s Club of Falmouth and had served as President. She was also a member of the Boston University Alumni Association and The Association of University Women.
Mrs. Reardon was also Past Worthy Matron of The Order Of The Eastern Star in Falmouth.

Her hobbies included gardening, travelling, swimming, and bike riding. She also enjoyed the Boston Symphony Orchestra and attended many of their concerts. She loved the outdoors, and had a special interest in flowers. Lilacs were her favorite. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her son John B. Reardon and his wife Janet H. of Stoughton, her two grand-children, Anne B. Reardon and Amy P. Reardon, both of Stoughton, one niece, two nephews and her brother-in-law, George B. Tirey of North Falmouth and New Hampshire. She was also mother to the late David Reardon and sister to the late Carrie Bartlett, formerly of Cotuit and Arlington and Catherine Tirey, formerly of North Falmouth and New Hampshire.

At the family’s request, visiting hours have been omitted and her internment will be private. A Memorial Service to celebrate Louise’s life will be held on Sunday May 21, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in the First Parish Universalist Church, 790 Washington Street, Stoughton. The Reverend Jeffrey Symynkywicz, officiating.
