Harvey Webb Sumner, Sr., 89, of Lenox, died Thursday, April 20, 2006 at Satilla Regional Medical Center in Waycross. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2006 in Lenox Cemetery with burial to follow. Rev. Jimmie Hinson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 21, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson.
Mr. Sumner was born on September 2, 1916 in Tifton and was the son of John Henry "Boss" Sumner and Rosa Lindsey Sumner, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Hall Sumner, who died on December 14, 2000; one son, Harvey Webb "Snooks" Sumner, Jr.; five sisters; and two brothers. He was a retired carpenter and a veteran of World War II, serving as an Army Medic. He had lived in Blackshear for the last four years.
Mr. Sumner is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Tamy and Jack Snow of Blackshear; two sisters, Grace McMillan of Lakeland, Florida and Narcissa Dotson of Tifton; and one grandchild, Shiloh Snow of Blackshear.
