Obituary

PORTLAND- On December 8, 2021, Philip James White (Phil) passed away unexpectedly at the age of 32. Phil was born March 24, 1989, in Portland to Debora Clifford and James White. After high school, he worked for a variety of restaurants in Maine before living and working in Florida for a time. He then returned to Maine and worked for Bristol Seafood. In 2019, Phil was struck by a vehicle and critically injured and was unable to work thereafter.
Phil was a sweet, funny, and loving guy. He had a strong passion for music and playing his electric guitar. He loved animals—especially cats, spending time with family, and camping at Sebago Lake State Park. He was fascinated by and very knowledgeable about metaphysics and astrophysics. Phil describes himself on his Facebook profile as “Seeker of Truth, Musician, Photographer, Amateur Astronomer/SETI & UFO Researcher.”
Phil is survived by his father, James, his mother, Debora, his Stepfather, Ed, siblings Ashley Foye, Delaney Clifford, Spencer White and Olivia White, grandparents Janet and Garry Glatz and Eugene and Bunny Pratt, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A time of sharing and remembrance will be held Sunday, December 19 at 2 p.m., with a service starting at 2:30 at Standish Congregational Church, 25 Oak Hill Road, Standish. Standish Congregational Church strongly recommends that everyone wear a mask in the church building, whether you are vaccinated or not. You may also attend the service virtually via Zoom. The Zoom link will be provided on Philip’s Facebook page prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alliance Maine.
