Frank D. Walker, 87, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Thursday, April 20, 2006 at Shiloh Personal Care Home in Ocilla, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, April 21, 2006 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Waldorf and Rev. Kelly Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00, Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Walker was born August 18, 1918, in Cordele, Georgia, to the late O.R.”Dode” and Lula Roberson Walker. He lived in Fitzgerald most of his life, where he was manager of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company for over 50 years. After retirement he was office manager of Colony Peanut Company. Mr. Walker was a life-long member of the Coca-Cola Bottling Association. He was a member and former Sunday School Superintendent of Central United Methodist Church and a member of the Carlisle Sunday School Class. Mr. Walker was a Mason, Shriner and a member of the Elk’s Club.
Mr. Walker is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: David & Patricia Walker of Fitzgerald; daughter & son-in-law: Frankie Joy & Ted Cowan of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: F. David Walker, II of Gallatin, TN, Tad Cowan of Fitzgerald and Leigh Horn of Hiram; 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Griffin Walker, 2 brothers and sisters.
