Antone Gonsalves, Jr., 93, of New Bedford died April 18, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in Fairhaven, son of the late Antone and Leuendric (Wainer) Gonsalves, he lived in Westport and New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Gonsalves operated the Wainer family farm with his father.
He served in Burma in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was the recipient of the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Survivors include cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late John Gonsalves, Joseph Gonsalves, Violet Williams, Marye Cummings, Octavia Brown and Cornelia Wortham.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 24th at 12:30 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. His family will receive guests on Monday from 11:30 - 12:30 PM prior to his service. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Southcoast Hospice and Palliative Care, 200 Mill Rd., Fairhaven, MA 02719.
