Obituary

Gloria R. (Gomes) Pike, lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, December 2, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Pike. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Gladys (Chubbuck) Gomes.

Before she married and raised her five children, she worked at Kresge’s department store. She enjoyed shopping for a good bargain, yard sales, interior decorating, ceramics and old Turner classic movies, with “Gone with the Wind” being her most favorite.

Gloria would often make changes to her home, so you would never know what to expect to see when you came for a visit except that her home would be spotless. She was an impeccable housekeeper. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gloria was the mother of John V. Pike, Lisa M. White and husband George, Tara J. Molino and husband Joseph, Tisha R. Hall and husband Mark and the late Sonny Pike; Nani to Rachel and Nicholas White, Amanda Hall, Kayla Pike, Jenny Hall, Katelyn Colon and Noah Molino; great Nani to Ava White and Bella, Brody and Bryson Oliveira. She was the eldest sister of Patricia Gomes, Cynthia Jacobs and the late Edward Gomes, Audrey Gomes and Judith Sirois. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Elmase Nicolas Toussaint of the Brockton VNA. Gloria will forever be loved and missed by all.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday 4-7pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Friday at 9am for a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church at 10am. Burial will be held at a later date in Melrose Cemetery.
