WORCESTER___Dennis L. Swears, born Dec. 8, 1936 in Vinalhaven, ME, went to be with the Lord on April 16, Easter Sunday.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Yvette (Manseau) Swears, his grandsons, Joshua Wadsworth who lived with him and Jason Rodopoulos of Millbury as well as nine other grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He leaves his children, Michelle Swears Wadsworth of Spencer; Stephen Swears of Burgaw, NC and Maria Kinney in New Hampshire; his step children, William Cutress and his wife Lynn of Webster; Kathleen Rodopoulos of Gilbertville; Carolyn Conte and her husband Michael of Glastonbury, CT, and Susan Gillon and her husband Robert of Hubbardston; and a sister, Judy Distasio of Portland, ME.
Dennis never lost his love of music from the 50’s and was an active Yankee fan. He was once ranked #5 as a heavy weight contender in the 60’s and was an avid bowler. He loved to vacation on Cape Cod. He was devoted to his spiritual family at Greenville Baptist Church in Leicester. Dennis worked for Instant Shockrete of Worcester and Ness Security of Connecticut until he retired in 1984.
Calling hours are Saturday April 22 from 3 to 5 pm in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St. A service will take place at 4:15 pm during calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greenville Baptist Church, 674 Pleasant St, Leicester, MA 01524
