Obituary

Richard J. Winn, age 80, a lifelong resident of Winchester, “went home” on November 28th, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Medford, Ma, he was the son of the late Robert and Susan (McPartland) Winn. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia (Pacino) Winn, his children, Greg Winn and his wife Stacy, Marc Winn and his wife Angela, and Nicole Russo and her husband Jeff, all of Winchester. He is predeceased by his son, Richard J. Winn, Jr. He is survived by his grandchildren, Richard, Brittany, Jeffrey, Ava, Christopher, Gregory, Patrick and Marco. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Winn, and brother-in-law, Rick Pacino and his wife Terry, and his nephew Ricky, all of Winchester.

Richard was raised and educated in Winchester, attending St Mary’s Elementary School, and graduating with the Winchester High School Class of 1960, as one of the original Sachems. In the halls of Winchester High, he met the love of his life, Patty. They raised their four children in their hometown, and he remained involved in the community, taking on roles as board member of Winchester Youth Hockey and Baseball, longtime Town Meeting Member, and as a coach of SYFC.
His love of sports was only multiplied, when he watched his grandchildren play. He could always be found at a field, rink, gymnasium or dance studio...if they participated in it, he was there.

Family time was the most precious to him, whether it was being together at the lake, or simply in the backyard enjoying a summer day. He was loved by family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St, Winchester, on Saturday, December 4th, from 9-11:30am, followed by a funeral mass in St Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St, Winchester, at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
